This study aims to examine the concept of character education contained in the Ta'lim al-Muta'allim poems and examine their relationship with the methodology of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the 21st century. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research type, where the main data source is the Ta'lim al-Muta'allim text supported by various scientific literature from the last ten years. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis techniques with a descriptive-analytical approach. The results of the study indicate that the character education values contained in the Ta'lim al-Muta'allim poems, such as intention, perseverance, patience, and etiquette towards teachers, have spiritual, moral, and social dimensions that are integrated in the learning process. These values are also closely related to the principles of 21st-century learning, especially in strengthening intrinsic motivation, resilience in learning, and ethical interaction in collaborative learning. In addition, this study found that the combination of classical character education values with modern PAI methodology can produce a more comprehensive and contextual learning approach. However, this research still has limitations due to its conceptual nature, necessitating further empirical research. Therefore, this study provides a theoretical contribution to the development of Islamic education while also offering practical recommendations for educators in integrating character values into Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning.
