Publication Ethics

This journal can be read, downloaded, copied, distributed, printed, searched, or linked to the full text of this article, save the article, browse for indexing, pass it as data to software, or use it for other legitimate purposes, without financial, legal, or technical obstacles other than those that are inseparable from obtaining access to the internet itself.

This scientific publication code of ethics statement is made based on the Head of LIPI Regulation No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. The publication code of ethics is a norm that must be obeyed by authors who will publish their scientific work in publication media, including:

  1. Moral: able to distinguish good and bad behavior in writing.
  2. Scientific integrity: upholding scientific principles, nature and truth, so as not to sacrifice it for any interest.
  3. Neutrality: free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications.
  4. Fairness: giving authorship rights to those who are entitled as authors
  5. Honesty: free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.

Disclosures and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished material in a submitted article may not be used in the editor's own research without the written consent of the author.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief

  1. Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation if necessary.
  2. Determine the membership of the editor.
  3. Define the relationship between the publisher, editors, reviewers, and other parties.
  4. Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors, editors, and reviewers.
  5. Implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
  6. Conduct a review of journal policies and communicate them to authors, editors, bestary partners, and readers.
  7. Create a code of conduct guide for editors and bestary partners.
  8. Publish the journal regularly.
  9. Ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publishing.
  10. Building cooperation and marketing networks.
  11. Improving the quality of the journal.
  12. Preparing licenses and other legal aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor

  1. The editor provides comments on the author's writing so that readers can understand what the author wants to convey, through comments written on the article.
  2. The editor provides comments on the author's writing in accordance with EBI (Indonesian Spelling) or language that is in accordance with the standardization of the journal.
  3. Editors strive to improve the quality of publications on an ongoing basis;
  4. The editor prioritizes freedom of opinion objectively,
  5. Editors submit corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary,
  6. The editor ensures that the author's writing does not involve racism or anything that can harm the publisher and coordinates the author's writing with the editor-in-chief of the publisher if the writing is slightly controversial.
  7. The editor receives, reviews, and follows up on complaints from all parties involved in journal publishing;
  8. The editors support initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics,
  9. Editors do not defend their own, authors' or third parties' opinions that may result in unobjective decisions,
  10. The editor encourages authors/writers to improve their work until it is fit for publication.
  11. Editors layout articles to be published so that they are in accordance with the journal template.
  12. The editor assists the editor-in-chief in finalizing the collection of articles before printing and publication, especially in terms of language, format and layout.

Duties and Responsibilities of Bestary Partners

  1. Provide objective and unbiased written feedback on the scientific value and contribution of the article to the development of science;
  2. Indicate whether the writing is clear, complete, and relevant, and whether the article fits the scope of the journal;
  3. Not provide personalized criticism or comments; and
  4. Maintain the confidentiality of the article, by not discussing it with unrelated parties, or disclosing the information contained in the article to other parties.

Author Ethics

The code of ethics that must be met by authors who will publish their scientific articles in the Engineering Journal:

  1. Authors must uphold scientific conduct, understand the benefits / advantages and risks of published writing.
  2. Published articles are free from misconduct, including: fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism/autoplagiarism.
  3. Authors must include adequate citations on all statements, ideas, data, which are not the result of their research.
  4. Published articles do not cause conflicts with certain parties or have the potential to disturb the community.
  5. The authors listed in the published article are truly those who are competent and have significant contributions in writing the article.
  6. The authors do not double manuscript submission to journals or other means of publication, simultaneously.
  7. Part or all of the published article has never been published in other means of publication.
  8. The published article is the original research results, ideas or thoughts of the author.

If the article has been accepted, the author is required to fill out an Author's Statement on the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications signed on a stamp duty by the main author.
