Edukasi Family Centered Care Sebagai Upaya Peningkatan Pengetahuan terhadap Risiko Jatuh pada Pasien Pasca General Anestesi di Rumah Sakit Jatiwinangun

Patients recovering from general anesthesia are at risk of decreased consciousness, impaired balance, and incomplete physical recovery, which may increase the risk of falls. Family members play an important role in assisting patients and maintaining their safety during the recovery period. Therefore, improving family knowledge regarding Family Centered Care (FCC) is needed as an effort to prevent fall risk. This community service activity aimed to improve family knowledge regarding the implementation of FCC for patients after general anesthesia at Jatiwinangun Hospital. The activity involved 33 family members of patients. Education was provided individually using audiovisual media and leaflets. Participants’ knowledge was evaluated using questionnaires through a pre-test before the education and a post-test after the education. Before the education, 15 participants (45.5%) had poor knowledge, 14 (42.4%) had moderate knowledge, and 4 (12.1%) had good knowledge. After the education, 30 participants (90.9%) had good knowledge and 3 (9.1%) had moderate knowledge, with no participants having poor knowledge. FCC education using audiovisual media and leaflets can improve family knowledge in supporting patient safety and preventing fall risk after general anesthesia.
