This community service activity was motivated by the relatively low ability of students to produce systematic to critical thinking scientific articles, particularly in the field of tourism transportation studies. Therefore, this program aims to enhance students’ skills in developing ideas, constructing logical arguments, and utilizing digital technology, especially generative AI, as a supporting tool in academic writing. The method employed in this activity was a structured mentoring approach conducted through face-to-face sessions. The implementation consisted of several stages, including needs assessment, delivery of academic writing materials, guided practice in article development, and evaluation of the writing outputs. The program was carried out at the Transportation Study Program, Faculty of Tourism and Creative Industries, Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang, involving 40 students as participants. The results indicate an improvement in students’ ability to produce more structured and systematic scientific articles. This improvement is reflected in their ability to determine relevant topics, organize writing frameworks, and develop arguments aligned with transportation studies. In addition, the use of generative AI was found to support students in accelerating the initial drafting process and generating ideas for writing. The mentoring activities carried out not only focused on the use of technology; therefore, it can be concluded that AI-based mentoring has the potential to sustainably improve the quality of students’ scientific writing.
