Pembelajaran Saintifik untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Kognitif Anak di RA Nurul Iman Kota Baubau

This study aimed to improve the cognitive abilities of Group B children at RA Nurul Iman, Baubau City, through the implementation of a scientific learning approach. Cognitive ability is an essential aspect of early childhood development as it is related to thinking skills, problem-solving, classifying, remembering, and understanding various simple concepts that serve as the foundation for future learning processes. The subjects of this study were 15 children in Group B. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages conducted in several cycles. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and assessments of children's development. The findings revealed that the implementation of the scientific learning approach gradually improved children's cognitive abilities in each cycle. The improvement was reflected in the children's ability to observe objects, ask questions, conduct simple experiments, analyze observation results, and communicate their findings. Furthermore, the scientific learning approach encouraged active participation in the learning process, enhanced children's curiosity, and helped them construct understanding through direct experiences. Therefore, the scientific learning approach was proven to be effective in improving the cognitive abilities of Group B children at RA Nurul Iman, Baubau City.
