Abstract

Premarital education is important for university students as a preventive effort to strengthen family resilience amid the increasing complexity of relationships and the risk of domestic conflict. This community service activity aimed to improve participants’ understanding of psychological readiness and basic skills in building healthy relationships before entering marriage. The implementation method was carried out through an online premarital education webinar in the form of interactive counseling, discussion, question-and-answer sessions, and participant reflection. This activity was attended by 38 participants who completed pre-test and post-test instruments. The materials presented included mental readiness, effective communication, conflict management, emotional regulation, empathy, and the identification of unhealthy relationship warning signs or red flags. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding, as indicated by the rise in the average score from 62.50% in the pre-test to 97.11% in the post-test, with an increase of 34.61 percentage points. In addition, the post-test score distribution showed that most participants achieved high scores after participating in the activity. Therefore, premarital education through an interactive webinar can serve as a positive preventive strategy to improve students’ readiness to build healthy relationships and strengthen family resilience from an early stage.
