Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of technology-based media in enhancing the success of Guidance and Counseling (BK) services in senior secondary schools. In the current digital era, BK services are required to transform from conventional methods to technology-based approaches to be more adaptive and relevant to Generation Z and Alpha students—categorized as digital natives. The study employed a quantitative quasi-experimental approach with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 60 Grade XI students selected through purposive sampling and randomly divided into an experimental group (n = 30) and a control group (n = 30). The experimental group received technology-based BK interventions (interactive BK applications, Canva digital infographics, and a cybercounseling platform), while the control group used conventional methods (physical guidance boards and printed brochures). Data were collected using the BK Service Effectiveness Scale (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.89). Data analysis involved descriptive statistics and a parametric independent sample t-test. Results showed a significant increase in service effectiveness scores in the experimental group by 38.5% (mean: 60.50 → 83.80), compared to 11.2% in the control group (59.80 → 66.50). Hypothesis testing yielded t = 5.213, p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). In conclusion, technology-based media significantly improves BK service success, accelerates comprehension of guidance materials, and reduces student resistance to utilizing counseling services.
