Abstract

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) play a strategic role in maintaining academic integrity, yet student awareness of the urgency of copyright remains relatively low. This study aims to analyze the importance of integrating IPR literacy into education as an effort to increase copyright awareness, build a healthy academic culture, and support the creative economy. The method used is a literature study using content analysis techniques on various relevant scientific journals. The results of the study indicate that students' understanding of copyright is still limited to the prohibition of plagiarism and has not yet addressed the aspects of legal protection or the economic value of works. The integration of IPR literacy into the curriculum, such as in research methodology and ethics courses, has proven effective in increasing understanding and shaping academic character with integrity. These findings confirm that IPR literacy is an essential part of information literacy and an important asset in facing the creative economy era. The implications of this study suggest that universities should systematically integrate IPR literacy into the learning process to produce graduates who are original, ethical, and globally competitive.
