The phenomenon of boarding time in pediatric patients has become an important national and global issue. The incidence of boarding time in the pediatric emergency room of Dr. Kariadi General Hospital, Semarang, is relatively high (39.7%-51.1%) and has an impact on patient emergencies. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence boarding time in pediatric patients. The study used a quantitative approach. A sample of 152 parents of pediatric patients in the pediatric emergency room of Dr. Kariadi General Hospital, Semarang, who experienced boarding time (>4 hours) was obtained through purposive sampling. Data were obtained using a questionnaire and then analyzed using descriptive statistics, cross-column tables, and chi-square. The results revealed that factors related to boarding time in the pediatric emergency room of Dr. Kariadi General Hospital, Semarang, were the parents' perceptions of pediatric patients regarding doctors, nurses, and administrative staff. Hospital management needs to pay attention to human resources (doctors, nurses, and administrative staff) to overcome or prevent boarding time by organizing human resource training programs that focus on behavioral or psychological aspects related to patient care
