Abstract

This study aims to analyze the digital leadership strategies of elementary school principals in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The study was conducted based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines. Data were collected from national and international scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026. Through a selection process based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria, 19 articles were identified and analyzed. The data were examined using thematic analysis to identify patterns, themes, and major findings from the selected studies. The findings reveal that digital leadership strategies of school principals include strengthening teachers’ digital competencies, utilizing technology-based academic supervision, developing a digital school culture, establishing learning communities, and implementing data-driven decision-making. Furthermore, the successful implementation of digital leadership is influenced by principals’ and teachers’ digital competencies, technological infrastructure, collaborative culture, and educational policy support. However, several challenges remain, including limited facilities and infrastructure, low digital literacy, and resistance to change. This study concludes that digital leadership is a strategic factor in supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, enhancing teacher professionalism, and improving the quality of education in elementary schools. The findings are expected to provide references for school principals, teachers, and policymakers in developing digital-based educational transformation.
