Peran Strategis Bimbingan dan Konseling dalam Pengembangan Kecerdasan Logis-Matematik Mahasiswa: Kajian Konseptual dan Survei pada Mahasiswa Universitas Telkom

The development of students’ logical-mathematical intelligence is an important agenda in higher education because it is closely related to reasoning ability, conceptual understanding, problem solving, and academic independence. This study aims to analyze the role of guidance and counseling in supporting the development of students’ logical-mathematical intelligence. This research employed a descriptive approach through literature review and field survey using Google Form involving 30 students of Telkom University. The research instrument measured four main aspects: logical-mathematical intelligence, problem solving, learning support, and students’ perception of guidance and counseling services. The results show that students’ logical-mathematical intelligence reached an average score of 32.07 out of 40, equivalent to 80.17%, and was categorized as high. However, students’ problem-solving ability reached an average score of 22.90 out of 30, equivalent to 76.33%, and was categorized as moderate. Learning support was categorized as high, with an average score of 20.60 out of 25, while students’ perception of guidance and counseling reached an average score of 14.90 out of 20 and was categorized as moderate. The findings also indicate that most students were aware of the existence of counseling services, but only a small number had used them. Therefore, guidance and counseling services need to be reconstructed not only as personal-social support but also as academic and cognitive development services. From the perspective of Islamic education, the development of logical-mathematical intelligence should be understood as part of the holistic development of reason, character, and spiritual awareness.
