Abstract

This research is entitled Academic Rehabilitation Management Model for the Blind: A Conceptual Study of Learning Practices in SLB Negeri Nania Ambon. The research uses a qualitative approach with naturalistic methods carried out in natural conditions, so as to be able to capture the reality of learning in a complete and in-depth way. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation to describe learning practices and academic rehabilitation management in detail. The results of the study showed that the class with disabilities was divided into three categories, namely light, medium, and severe. The focus of this study was on moderately disabled students in grades VIII and IX C. Teachers still use the 2013 curriculum with a thematic learning system that covers all subjects, but material adjustments are made by reducing, decreasing the level of difficulty, or eliminating certain materials. Learning evaluation is carried out through simple exams such as matching colors, letters, pictures, and compiling puzzles. Teachers show a responsive attitude in providing assistance, managing time efficiently, and moving activities with clear cues. The conclusion of the study emphasizes that learning planning is still thematically based, while classroom management is characterized by time efficiency and teachers' responsiveness to students' conditions.
