Hypercholesterolemia is a condition characterized by total cholesterol levels exceeding the normal limit of 200 mg/dL. This disorder is commonly caused by the frequent consumption of high-fat foods such as red meat, full-fat dairy products, fried snacks, and excessive alcohol intake. A sedentary lifestyle and lack of regular physical activity can further increase cholesterol levels. If left untreated, hypercholesterolemia can trigger plaque formation within blood vessels, leading to atherosclerosis and impaired blood circulation, which increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Simvastatin is one of the commonly prescribed drugs used to lower cholesterol levels; however, various natural compounds from plants also show potential as alternative therapeutic agents. One such plant is pandan (Pandanus amaryllifolius), which contains bioactive compounds that may contribute to cholesterol reduction. This study aims to evaluate the physicochemical properties, pharmacokinetic profiles, and toxicity levels of pandan leaf compounds using in silico analysis through the PubChem database, PASS Online, and pkCSM platforms.
