Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has fundamentally transformed scholarly publishing, creating both opportunities and challenges for improving publication quality and strengthening the academic credibility of scientific journals. This study aims to develop and evaluate a comprehensive digital transformation framework that integrates editorial management, peer review optimization, metadata standardization, research integrity mechanisms, and digital dissemination strategies to enhance journal performance. The research employs a qualitative approach using a systematic literature review and conceptual analysis of contemporary digital publishing practices, international indexing requirements, and scholarly quality assurance standards. Relevant literature from reputable academic databases was synthesized to identify the key dimensions of digital transformation and examine their relationships with publication quality, editorial effectiveness, and institutional credibility. The findings reveal that the effective implementation of integrated digital technologies improves editorial workflow efficiency, accelerates manuscript processing, enhances transparency in peer review, strengthens metadata interoperability, reinforces publication ethics, and increases the visibility, accessibility, and citation impact of scientific publications. The analysis further indicates that digital transformation is not limited to the adoption of technological tools but also requires organizational readiness, effective governance, stakeholder collaboration, capacity building, and continuous quality monitoring to ensure sustainable journal development. A holistic and strategic approach to digital transformation enables scientific journals to achieve higher publication standards, strengthen academic credibility, meet international indexing requirements, and remain competitive within the evolving global scholarly publishing landscape. The proposed framework provides practical guidance for journal managers, editors, publishers, and higher education institutions in implementing sustainable digital innovation to improve journal quality, enhance research dissemination, and support long-term excellence in academic publishing.
