The reliability of a Generator Set (Genset) as a backup power supply heavily depends on the integrity of its dielectric insulation system, especially when operating in a tropical coastal environment prone to thermal stress and high humidity. This study aims to evaluate the Insulation Resistance (IR) and Polarization Index (PI) of a 350 kVA generator based on the IEEE 43-2024 standard, and to analyze the conductor resistance balance referring to ANSI/EASA AR100-2025. The research method includes verifying the cooling circulation space, conducting a 1,000 V DC voltage injection test for 10 minutes, and measuring the low-order direct current resistance on the stator windings. Evaluation results show that the insulation resistance values on the stator, power cables, and circuit breaker exceed the instrument's limit (>1,000 MΩ), indicating minimal leakage current and excellent insulation condition. The Polarization Index (PI) value was recorded at a ratio of 2.0 (categorized as Good). A maximum resistance asymmetry deviation of 4.35% was found in the T-R phase, which still meets the operational tolerance limit. It is concluded that the generator unit is in a highly feasible operating condition. As a preventive measure in coastal areas, operating the internal space heater while the unit is on standby is recommended to prevent the accumulation of microscopic condensation.
