Delayed recovery of motor function following spinal anesthesia can increase the risk of bed rest syndrome and thromboembolism, as well as prolong the recovery process. The Bromage Score is used to assess motor recovery and facilitate early mobilization. This study aimed to determine the effect of passive lower-extremity exercises on the Bromage Score in patients following spinal anesthesia at Jatiwinangun Specialized Surgical Hospital, Purwokerto. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group approach was employed. The sample consisted of 45 respondents—divided into an intervention group (n=22) and a control group (n=23)—selected via consecutive sampling. The majority of respondents underwent surgeries lasting between 60 and 120 minutes (51.1%). Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. The results showed that all respondents had a Bromage Score of 3 (100%) prior to the intervention. Following the intervention, 10 respondents (45.5%) in the intervention group achieved a Bromage Score of 1, whereas 11 respondents (47.8%) in the control group had a Bromage Score of 2. The Mann-Whitney test yielded a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.05), indicating that passive lower-extremity exercises influence the Bromage Score and can help accelerate the recovery of motor function.
